Today has been an excellent task. We were clearing sycamore and elder from a woodland at Kedleston Hall. The woodland had been left since 1946 in order to regenerate but all had happened was that sycamore and elder had taken over. The plan is too remove all these and then plant up with ash, oak and some thorn. There was a huge amount of trees to clear, luckily we had some hard working volunteers and Head Warden Simon with his trusty chainsaw. The task was unusual in that we had two huge fires, see below for a picture of David in front on the first one.
