WORK REPORT:

(type, quantity, quality, location)

This weekend was a bumper outing for the group as we had seven on the Saturday and nine on Sunday. The task was split into several varied jobs;

step building with railway sleepers and gravel

adding chicken wire to boardwalks to improve the grip in the wet weather

making two forestry gates using felled conifers and a lot of manual labour !

We were glad to have two new volunteers out with us, Steve and his daughter Stacy. It was nice to have a youngster on task for a change.

It was also good fun to have a go at constructing the forestry gates which involved Dave the ranger felling several conifers (they needed thinning anyway) and us arranging them as two large gates.

In addition to the good company the weekend was made more enjoyable by the weather which was dry and sunny although the wind was bitter.
